You can create a Windows shortcut to automatically launch ET and connect to a given server. Just follow these steps:

  • Create a shortcut to ET.exe, or copy the one you are using to launch ET (open the Start menu, *right* click on the Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory item and drag it on the desktop, then release the button and choose "Copy" from the popup menu.

  • Right click on the shortcut and choose "Properties" from the popup menu

  • Follow the instructions of the following image

Voila, you have a shortcut to your favorite server. If you use xfire to launch ET, you can still use this technique to set your nickname and other stuff: open xfire, then from the Tools menu select Settings, then go to the Games tab, click on the Enemy Territory icon on the games list, and on the right side of the window click on the "Advanced settings" button, then put:

+seta name "Your nick"

in the "Command line parameters" box. Don't put the "+set fs_game" and "+connect" statements there.

And this puts you through x-fire so stats will save?

Go to options and change it. It'll reconnect you, but it should stay to next times.

I have a problem with this thing. I made everything exactly as shown but when I tried to connect through it it said: "You are banned from this server". To make clear I am not banned I think. Hope you guys can help me with this.

This is caused by your etkey, don't really know how to solve it though. Does it work when you connect normally?
